Head for the hills (literally) to the newly opened Lodge at Blue Sky where Overseas is proud to have been the FIRST to follow their journey from beginning to end. From the days of construction and hard hat tours to onsite inspections at the pre-opening, we’ve lived it all. And now we’re passing on our torch of knowledge. But why dare share our insider info? Because the Lodge at Blue Sky in Park City, Utah is more than a property—it’s a transformative experience that connects people with the land, history, and animals.
Time is precious, we know. So it comes to no surprise that Blue Sky is situated just 30 minutes from the international airport and 20 minutes from the best ski resort in North America. Forty-six rooms sprawled across a 3,500 acre ranch, this luxury resort is committed to re-introducing guests to nature with harmonic architecture and traditional, Western-inspired adventures.
There’s not many organizations that test out every single destination for their clients like we do. And no, we don’t just send an average intern to gain the inside scoop. Our experienced professionals dive deep into the property by experiencing everything it has to offer and asking all the right questions.
The Space:
Separated into three main sections: Earth, Sky, and Creek, The Lodge at Blue Sky is ideal for friends, families, and couples. Whether it’s a social atmosphere near their world class mountain restaurant, family friendly rooms or therapeutic isolation in the forest— each haven offers unique features depending on the journey.
The most special lodging that caught our eye are the Creek Houses. Not only do they contain indoor fireplaces, high-raised ceilings, and 14 foot retractable glass doors, but they also feature hammock swings and fishing rods to catch fresh trout right from the front door. These five freestanding accommodations are situated along the banks of the Creek in a secluded Aspen grove.
Wake up and explore the hillsides and wilderness of the Wasatch Mountains to escape the booming hustle of day-to-day life! A cliffside wellness sanctuary, whiskey distillery, farm-to-table cuisine driven by Blue Sky’s on-site farm, and the opportunity to do anything and everything without having to travel too far. With 250,000 acres of private fishing and 200,000 acres dedicated to winter activities, there’s plenty of room to explore. The Lodge at Blue Sky thrives with a multitude of active experiences for guests, from heli-yoga and full-moon hiking to fly fishing and horseback riding on paved trails.
Ways to Enjoy:
With so many activities onsite, it can be overwhelming to choose. That’s why we’ve compiled a few suggested itineraries for the perfect stay on the ranch.
Additionally, the The Little Vaqueros Club will allow kids to participate in daily themed excursions tailored to their age group. Activities include horsemanship lessons, wildlife education, berry picking, and animal interaction (cows, chickens, bees etc) on the 1.5 acre organic farm. Bring the camping experience indoors by requesting luxury sleeping teepees to maximize the western fun.
Fuel the soul by experiencing the abundant outdoor pursuits Blue Sky has to offer. Explore high alpine fishing by taking a helicopter and flying into the Wasatch mountains for a full day of secluded fly fishing finish with a mountaintop picnic lunch.
That isn’t enough? An experienced mountain bike instructor will teach guests how to maneuver and navigate Blue Sky’s single-track trails. Breathe in the fresh air by spending the morning at the 5-stand shooting pavilion to practice various target scenarios. End the adventure packed day with a High West Whiskey Journey, a whiskey infused spa treatment to ease the muscles from head to toe and enjoy a glass of the finest whiskey available.
Western Winters:
The helicopter rides are a fan favorite and the fun doesn’t stop in the summer. winter brings a whole new set of adventures! For the ultimate thrill, jump on board and experience heli-snowboarding and heli-skiing adventures. In addition, guests can enjoy cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snow cat tours, horse riding, dog sledding, and more. The best part? Making smores by a kindling fire with a warm beverage.
While we’ve only briefly touched base on all the unique offerings the Lodge at Blue Sky has to offer, there’s one thing we’re certain about. Stories can’t be written until they’re lived. Family retreats, romantic getaways, spiritual journeys, or even a full blown wedding—it can all be experienced at the Lodge at Blue Sky. So why wait?
